UN official taking close view of Rohingya plights

UN Women Executive Director Dr Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka is now visiting Cox’s bazar to visit Rohingya camps and see the plights of Rohingyas who fled from Mayanmar.
Mlambo-Ngcuka, also UN Under-Secretary-General, reached Cox’s Bazar on Wednesday, reporrts UNB. She is visiting Bangladesh for the first time, since the creation of UN Women in 2010, said an official.
During her visit, she will be meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina apart from holding a number of meetings with the officials at the Minister for Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission, civil society partners as well as international development actors.
She will share her key observations and experiences from her meetings and travel in Bangladesh before leaving Dhaka on February 3.
